The SHRM Certification Prep Course is designed primarily for individuals seeking SHRMP-CP or SHRM-SCP certification. Earning your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP credential makes you a recognized expert and leader in the HR field-and a valuable asset to your organization, keeping you and your organization more competitive in today's economy. This professional distinction sets you apart from your colleagues, proving your high level of knowledge and skills. The SHRM certification prep course will provide you with the competencies and knowledge you'll need to prepare for the certification exam.

The class is set to meet once a week on Tuesdays starting on August 30 - November 15, 2022.

This course offering will be completely ONLINE  through Zoom.

All students taking this class must have a working web cam and microphone - participation in this course is required!

Meet our instructors -

Elizabeth Wojtowicz Elizabeth Wojtowicz is both SPHR and SHRM-SCP certified.  Elizabeth earned her Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Human Resources from Central Michigan University and has more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources.  In her current role as Head of HR at Quorum Software, Elizabeth current responsibilities include corporate compliance, employee relations, benefit, retirement, payroll and acquisitions.   In previous roles, Elizabeth was also responsible for immigration, recruiting, talent development, and compensation.

Elizabeth is actively involved in SHRM at both the national and local level.  Elizabeth joined the Board of Directors for the Texas Bay Area SHRM in 2014 as College Relations Chair.  She assumed the role of President for three years and has recently moved back to her passion as College Relations Chair.  Elizabeth was responsible for reinstating the student chapter of SHRM at UHCL and has a strong partner of UHCL over the years.

Elizabeth is passionate about HR and helping students and professionals advance their career.  It’s because of this that Elizabeth is excited to facilitate the SHRM Certification Prep Course. 

Tom Markley- Since completing his Master of Labor and Human Resources degree at the Ohio State University, Tom has held numerous roles in Labor Relations, and HR Management, in consumer products and manufacturing in both corporate and operations environments. Tom currently works in Performance Management for a Houston based non-profit organization. In addition, Tom has held leadership positions in numerous community and industry organizations, and currently serves as College Relations chair for Texas Bay Area SHRM.

Cancelation Policy: Cancel before the start of 2nd class and receive partial refund (excluding class materials ). You may also cancel your registration before the start of your 2nd class and transfer your registration to the following offer in that same year. A Zoom meeting and password will be emailed a week before the start of the class. We will also reach out a few weeks before the start of the class to have materials mailed directly to you. All students participating in this class MUST have a working web cam and microphone - class participation is required!
